I have known Katrina Ponce Enrile, with Jackie Aquino and Randy Ortiz, for more than four decades. Our friendship has lasted this long because as friends we’ve always known who we are, understood where we have been, accepted what we have become, and have allowed each other to grow and become a better person. We are grateful for the true friendship, Katrina.

2020 she was to turn 60 and wanted a birthday celebration much like a decade ago. A venue was selected, meetings set with an event planner to coordinate on theme, decor, program, invitations ready…then pandemic hit worldwide and everything was put on hold. 2023. Katrina thought if not this year, when? Nothing would stop her this time from planning her party, a white huge airconditioned tent was set up, with a dance floor, in the garden of their residential compound. It came complete with mirror balls, lights, smoke machine and a neon-lit backdrop.
The party theme became a celebration of our disco years at Where Else? where our group, the Silverado Kids (Katrina Ponce Enrile, Grace Venzuela, Inchang Javier, Ruby Ann Bonanza, Chilly Tanquintic, Jackie Aquino, Randy Ortiz) were regulars. A co- Where Else gal, Suzanne Jocson Bangsil texted me to send photos of our group for a video, a playlist of KPE’s favorite disco dance music. To make the party exciting, I suggested to invite the best dance pair, Erich Edralin and Princess Misa. And Suzanne thought of John Robinson, best and well-loved DJ of Rumors. Their attendance surprised Katrina and the guests.
And so…. The Boss, Katrina.. began To Turn The Beat Around and Boogie Oogie Oogie…guests Keep On Dancin’…to Last Dance…it was A Night to Remember!
