“They were very strict and weren’t allowing people to go near him, but I think they must have thought I was Korean too, so I was able to go beside him,” Tim recalled the moment in a message to TheDiarist.ph. He posted the selfie in his IG @officialtimyap.

“So I asked him for a selfie, which he indulged me with. Then I told him, ‘Filipinos love you so much!’ And he said, ‘Thank you very much!’”

Tim said of the split-minute encounter: “He was super nice!”

Since his release, Jin started his now very popular Run series which shows him going about the things he loves, such as a homecoming visit to his high school alma mater, climbing Mount Hallasan, or playing tennis. He was also a torch bearer in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
