Actor Xian Lim, athlete Agatha Wong inspire scholars

The DLS-CSB event featured outstanding students and graduates who shared experiences with attendees

Actor, director, musician, and producer Xian Lim is graduating with a degree in Music Production (MP) through the Benilde Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

Over 160 scholars from the different courses of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) gathered in celebration of inclusivity, creativity, and service during the 2026 edition of INFUSE.

Themed Keep the Fire Burning, the event featured a series of interactive lectures and activities which fostered camaraderie among new and returning scholars. It likewise provided them with opportunities to socialize, network, and strengthen their sense of belonging.

The affair was organized by the Benildean Scholars Association (BSA) in collaboration with the Center for Student Life (CSL) and the Center for Admissions, Scholarships, and Grants (CASG) Scholarships and Grants Unit (SGU).

Inspired and guided by the principle of paying it forward, BSA spearheaded the annual constitutional activity to empower and develop the next generation of well-rounded Benildeans who embody excellence and community spirit.

The program included a plenary titled “Growth, Mindset, and Resilience: The Heart of a Champion,” which equipped participants with a deeper understanding of their support systems.

Among the highlights of the event were inspiring lectures from distinguished individuals whose journeys serve as inspiration and motivation for the attendees as they live their college years and beyond.

Actor, director, musician, and producer Xian Lim, set to finish with a degree in Music Production (MP) through the Benilde Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), shared his personal experiences in defying limits and navigating life transitions and pivots.

In a discussion with Ervin Aeron Santos of the Benilde Well-Being Center (BWC), a registered guidance counselor and certified mental health first aid responder, Lim expounded on the challenges of being in the entertainment industry and the personal growth that is achieved when one steps out of one’s comfort zone.

In a previous interview, Lim, who is incidentally a licensed pilot, likewise reminded the youth not to fall into the trap of social media pressure. He stressed the risks of doomscrolling, as excessive exposure to online content may lead to unhealthy comparison with others.

For the actor, self-worth and confidence must not be based on numbers and online validations. He encouraged the students to embrace their true and unique selves and share posts that reflect their interests and passions.

Wushu star and six-time SEA Games gold medalist Agatha Wong

Wushu star and six-time South East Asian Games gold medalist Agatha Wong, a graduate of the Consular and Diplomatic Affairs (CDA) Program under the Benilde School of Diplomacy and Governance (SDG), likewise visited her fellow scholars to share how she balanced and managed the responsibilities of being a full-time student and national athlete.

Wong, a 2019 De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA) Lasallian Sports Achievement Awardee, highlighted the importance of discipline in this endeavor.

She imparted how focusing on the future has remained her ultimate goal, even if it meant sacrificing her social life. She advised the young audience that commitment comes with trade-offs, and in so doing, one must be at peace with skipping other experiences in pursuit of dreams.

The two speakers were joined by Benilde Chancellor Benhur Ong, MBA; CASG Director Royce Hernandez; CSL Dean Levi Albania; BSA Faculty Adviser IDr. Randy Pabona; and BSA President Kelly Divinagracia.
