What if being a “game changer” begins not when you become a leader, but when you decide to participate?
The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) and Move to Change Foundation, Inc. (M2C) present Project GG: Game Changers for Good Governance, a six-month youth-centered theater and civic participation campaign that invites young people to question, participate, decide, and act in shaping the communities they are already part of.
Good governance may often seem like an abstract political concept, but after a series of conversations with young people, Project GG approaches it through experiences that young people can relate to: choices, relationships, community, responsibility, participation, and collective action.
Inspired by the familiar youth expression “G?”, whether “Game ka ba?” or “Go!”, the campaign transforms the casual phrase into deeper civic questions: G ka ba makilahok? G ka ba makinig? G ka ba magtanong? G ka ba makibahagi sa pagbabago?
Through theater, storytelling, workshops, learning spaces, and community conversations, Project GG seeks to create spaces where young people can experience civic participation, not simply learn about it.
Its centerpiece is Gen G: GG na ’To!, an interactive theater production that puts audiences directly in the middle of the action. It opened at the PETA Theater Center on September 17, 2026, and will tour 12 schools from September to December 2026.
Beyond Gen G, PETA continues the campaign until 2028 through a series of learning and engagement initiatives connecting theater with youth participation, Global Citizenship Education, and narrative change.
Through PETA Lingap Sining, in partnership with Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) and Misereor, PETA continues the Control + Shift: Changing Narratives project, using theater and creative exchange to challenge dominant narratives and explore how stories shape power, identity, and social change. The project includes Control + Shift Live! Narrative Change StudioLab, Narrative Change Educational Series, Workshops, and Fora.
Meanwhile, PETA ARTSZone is working on a three-year project, with support of Terre des Hommes Germany, and Dachser, titled ARTSZone: Reclaiming Democratic Spaces for Children through Global Citizenship Education. The project focuses on strengthening civic participation among the youth through Global Citizenship Education (GCED)—from research and module development, to arts-based community initiatives and action.
Together, these activities reflect Project GG’s vision: a generation of young people who recognize their agency, participate meaningfully in their communities, and see themselves as active contributors to more accountable, inclusive, and compassionate societies.
For PETA and M2C, the goal is not simply to tell young people to become “game changers.” It is to create opportunities for them to practice being one, by asking questions, listening to others, making decisions, taking responsibility, and acting together.
