Threads of Tradition on Nov. 8 celebrates the national garb as living culture

In a special celebration of culture diversity and heritage preservation, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) present Threads of Tradition: A Celebration of Korean and Philippine Traditional Attires, a free event on Nov. 8, 2023, from 2 to 5 pm, at the Leandro Locsin Auditorium at the NCCA Building in Intramuros.

Threads of Tradition showcases the beauty and historical significance of traditional clothing from the Philippines and Korea. The event seeks to educate and raise awareness about the importance of preserving and appreciating traditional attire, serving as a vital link to each country’s cultural heritage.

Guest speakers will lead a discussion on the history and significance of Hanbok and Filipiniana, and the role they play in shaping a nation’s culture.

After the lectures, guests can try on the hanbok and the Filipiniana clothes.
