Dr. Jennifer B. Fabula has been appointed dean of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Multidisciplinary Studies (SMS), effective the first term of academic year 2024 to 2025.
Under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academics, the SMS is responsible for the curriculum planning of General Education courses in the college.
Recently, SMS introduced the pioneering Bachelor in Holistic Disciplines, which equips the next generations of industry leaders with professional and global competencies in contemporary communication, health and wellness, inclusion and leadership, and youth development studies. This is accomplished through a hybrid, integrative, and transformative approach to learning.
Dr. Fabula holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, major in Special Education, from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She earned her Master of Arts in Education, major in Religious and Values Education, from the De La Salle University Manila, and a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Religious Education and English, from St. Columban’s College in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
The educator, who has been with the college since 1999, began her stint in the college as a faculty member in Theology and Philosophy. She was appointed chairperson from academic years 2008 to 2009 until 2017 to 2018. During that time, she led the revision of the Theology syllabi in response to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) memorandum orders to enhance the quality assurance of the Philippine higher education system.
2021 to 2022, she was selected as program head of the General Academic Strand of the newly launched Benilde Senior High School (SHS). In this capacity, she spearheaded the development and implementation of a comprehensive humanities and social sciences curriculum, fostered cross-disciplinary education, and prepared students for diverse academic paths after graduation.
Due to her commitment and dedication, she was also invited to serve as a mentor for BigSky, the college’s official learning management system, under the Center of Educational Technology (CET).
In 2023, she became the head of the CET Learning Environment Unit, continuing her mentorship in coaching and capacity building.
Dr. Fabula has been active in several institutional activities. She facilitated the 35th anniversary BenEx Interactive, and is a contributing writer for the daily reflections of the Center for Lasallian Ministry (CLM), among others.
