The 2023 Korean Film Festival (KFF), Ka-ja! Korea Through Films, promises to be an unforgettable cinematic journey.
From Sept. 22 to 26, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC), in collaboration with the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), SM Cinema, and the Korea Tourism Organization Manila Office (KTO), will run seven award-winning films that have gained a global audience, shot in scenic destinations in Korea, from Busan to Jeju.
The free, first-come-first-served screenings will be at SM North Edsa, SM Megamall, MOA< SM Seaside Cebu, SM Lanang.
Serving as the grand finale of the Korea Tourism Promotion month hosted by KCC, this year’s KFF supports the Visit Korea 2023-2024 tourism campaign led by the Korean government.
Films include the joyful musical movie Life is Beautiful, the black-and-white film The Book of Fish, an independent film Bori, and such dazzling movies as Director’s Intention, Everglow, Gyeongju, and Jukdo Surfing Diary. Each of these cinematic gems was shot in breathtaking locations across Korea, such as Gangneung, Busan, Jeju, Gyeongju, Yangyang, Paju, and Sinan. The series will be a complete tour of the country.

Admission is free, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Before the festival’s kickoff, the KCC is bringing its Meet the Mentor series, now joined by K-movie producers in partnership with De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB).
They include the people behind the box-office hit of 2022, Life is Beautiful. The Lamp CEO Park Eunkyung, who produced such famous films as A Taxi Driver, and film production director Lee Yeonhwa will discuss the art of producing Korean movies.
The event is open to all, and registration is required. Secure your spot by registering through until September 15, 12 p.m.
Meet the Mentor: K-Movie will be at DLS-CSB’s Digital Screening Film Room, Design + Arts Campus, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
