Directed by Robbie Guevara, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens, this adaptation of a Charles Dickens classic follows the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge, a man transformed by the magic of Christmas Eve and the visits of the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Through these encounters, Scrooge is reminded of the joy he once knew, the compassion he’s forgotten, and the hope that still lies ahead.
Since its first publication in 1843, A Christmas Carol has touched hearts across generations through films, stage plays, and retellings. The Broadway version brings new life to the classic, filling the stage with melodies, dance numbers, and laughter and reflection that remind audiences of the joy in giving and the power of redemption.
The Proscenium Theater is the metropolis’ new setting for holiday traditions. Located at Rockwell Center, this 780-seat venue was designed for connection, with natural acoustics, refined interiors, and a layout that brings every audience member closer to the stage.
