Screening of ‘Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea’ on Friday July 17, 2026, 11a.m. to 2 p.m.,  Fifth Floor Theater of the Benilde Design + Arts Campus, 950 Pablo Ocampo St., Malate, Manila. Free admission.

Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea, a documentary on the everyday struggles and resilience of Filipino fishermen as they defend their livelihood against the Chinese Coast Guard aggression, will be screened for free on July 17, 2026.

Directed by Baby Ruth Villarama and produced by Voyage Studios, the film premiered at the 2025 DocEdge Festival, an Academy Award-qualifying international film festival in Auckland, New Zealand. It was given the Tides of Change recognition.

Organized by the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), the initiative aims to inform and update the public on the current socioeconomic and geopolitical realities in the West Philippine Sea.

The docu highlights the occupational, economic, and safety challenges, plus human rights violations faced by Filipino fishermen 10 years after the historic Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling, won under the Benigno Aquino III administration, in favor of the Philippines and which invalidated China’s “nine-dash line” claims.

A talkback session will follow as a platform for students, faculty, advocates, and members of the local communities to analyze issues of national sovereignty, maritime security, and international law.

The screening was made possible through the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life, School of Diplomacy and Governance, Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, Center for Social Action, Center for Campus Exhibitions, and Center for Student Life-Culture and Arts Unit.

The event will be held at the Fifth Floor Theater of the Benilde Design + Arts Campus, 950 Pablo Ocampo St., Malate, Manila. It is scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
