Passions and Obsessions

‘Everyone’s KPOP: Manila!’ kicks off July 1

Cosplay, music and dance performances, including those of P-pop's VER5US and G22

A month-long K-pop celebration starts July 1.

The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) and Seoul Shinmun, in partnership with the Philippine K-pop Convention (PKCI) and Robinsons Galleria Ortigas, present “Everyone’s KPOP: Manila,” an event to immerse the fandom in fun and the world of K-pop.

This will be held July 1, 10 am to 5 pm,  Level 1, Main Atrium Robinsons Galleria Ortigas.

“Everyone’s KPOP: Manila” seeks to highlight the diverse aspects of K-pop beyond music and dance. It strives to convey the inclusive nature of K-pop that, like any other music genre, can be enjoyed by people across ages and social standing. Through performances, games, and activities, even those unfamiliar with the genre can join this festive event.

The event has two phases.

Kick-off is KPOP Playground, to run from morning to early afternoon, where the audience can play fun games from K-variety shows. There will be different interactive activities on and off stage, in fan club booths. People get the chance to win K-pop albums and merchandise. There will also be a K-pop Cosplay Show.

There will be special performances by P-pop groups VER5US and G22.

The 2023 K-pop Cover Dance Festival (KCDF) kicks off in the afternoon, where dance groups from all over the country will perform.

The grand winner of the K-pop Cover Dance Festival will represent the Philippines in Korea for the final round. They will have the chance to enjoy a K-pop idol group experience, including training with a renowned choreographer and a professional photo taken by a famous photographer. They can tour Korea.

K-Space will also be launched on the 5th floor Multipurpose Hall of the Korean Cultural Center on Bayani Road, Taguig, open every Friday in July for K-pop communities to hold their special events—whether a comeback watch party, dance party, or birthday celebration for the fans’ bias.
