Just to be a shopping mall isn’t enough these days. A development must meet today’s Filipino consumer’s needs to meet health and safety protocols, convenience, and the all-around requirements resulting from the pandemic. Evolving in the south is a mixed-use complex,  South Park Center, for consumer essentials and government service centers right in Muntinlupa city.

“South Park Center has evolved from being a shopping mall to becoming a mixed-use complex aimed to serve the Filipino’s varying needs. Through partnerships with local government units in line with Alagang AyalaLand community engagement initiatives, we were able to provide more relevant services that equip people to thrive in the new normal,” explains Jessica O. Santos, AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corporation (ALLHC) head of Commercial Leasing.

A Safety Seal recipient, the hub adheres to the minimum public health standards required by the government. Employees and visitors are asked to comply with safety protocols including social distancing and wearing of face shields and masks within the premises.

Located along National Road in Barangay Alabang, South Park Center is easily accessible to residents and people in the south. Public transportation, from city and provincial-bound buses to jeepneys, and railways, converge in this staple destination.

The multi-service hub serves as Muntinlupa’s mega vaccination site, which is administered by the City of Muntinlupa through its COVID-19 vaccination program, MunCoVac.

Alternately, South Park Center is also operating saliva RT-PCR testing sites in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross. Secured with the approval of the Department of Health, this method is non-invasive and guarantees a quicker turnaround time of 24 hours at a cheaper rate of Php 1,500 compared to the traditional nasal swab procedure.

Third on the list is the Philippine Statistics Authority’s PhilSys Step 2 National ID registration site. In accordance with the Republic Act No. 11055, or the Philippine Identification System Act, the process aims to establish a central identification platform for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens of the Philippines.

In addition to these services, more government service centers will be set up at South Park Center by the end of 2021. In collaboration with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Filipinos residing and working in the area will soon be able to access PRC frontline services such as Application for Examination, Initial Registration, Renewal of Professional Identification Cards, and Certifications of Board Rating and Passing, among many.

Aside from government services, South Park Center provides consumer essentials through Robinsons Supermarketercury Drug, PNB (Philippine National Bank), Medline Dialysis Center, Western Union, M. Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier, and Tony & Jackey Salon. Given the close proximity between the various sites, one can easily schedule vaccination, testing, and other government requirements with personal errands all in one day.

The multi-service hub also houses the Bureau of Internal Revenue (RDO 53B) and the Local Civil Registry. The establishment’s ultimate aim is to be a vital destination by giving consumers easy access to services for people’s personal and government-requirement or civil needs.

“We have been partners with the City Government of Muntinlupa since day one. From the establishment of the government offices of PSA, Local Civil Registry, and COMELEC here in South Park Center, to converting our activity center into a mega vaccination site to help the city in its vaccination efforts, we continuously support the local government in its projects and initiatives that benefit the citizens of Muntinlupa,” says Rowena M. Tomeldan, ALLHC President and CEO.

Situated within South Park District estate, one of Ayala Land’s estate developments in Alabang, South Park Center has a total gross lease area of 58,000 sqm for banks, supermarkets, clinics, offices, BPO spaces, and other uses. Avida Towers Altura, a two-tower residential building, stands alongside South Park Center.

South Park Center is being repurposed to include more storage spaces, warehouses, and office hubs.
