The highly awaited redesign of the Orient Express to debut in 2023 could be your peg.

Conceptualized by Milan-based Dimorestudio, the luxe rail transit’s new interiors is a stunning homage to Italian Art & Design’s golden years, an articulation of its rebranding as Orient Express La Dolce Vita. Dimorestudio’s founding partners, Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, married the old and the new, while maintaining the historic train’s refined luxe vibe.

To recreate the Orient Express aesthetic, pick an anchor color lifted from the palette of Salci’s idols, artists Lucio Fontana and Enrico Castellani, against which you can stage key pieces from Gavel & Block’s lots.

These are pieces skewed to different decor styles, such as the nostalgia-driven objects for a man cave; depictions of women in a Femme Fatale-theme budoir; bright, graphic art and furniture for fans of the enduring Pop Phenomenon. For the serious collector, there are distinctive works by Filipino masters that can come together in a private gallery.

Gavel & Block’s first edition for 2022 has a long line of Philippine Masters.

A selection of extraordinary depictions of the Filipina face and form, alongside Warhol’s iconic imagination of pop culture muse Marilyn Monroe. The collection is accompanied by signature designs from great fashion houses who created pieces that reflect the spirit of their own muses.

Most men dream of a personal space of their own, surrounded by the objects that speak to their adventurous side.
