Heart’s happy place

Style arbiter spends a retail-therapy day at Greenbelt 3

Heart enjoys a breath of fresh air as she walks towards Greenbelt 4

Heart Evangelista is, hands down, a leading style arbiter. From her trips to Paris and Milan for fashion week to just running an errand on a regular day, she struts highly personal impeccable choices.

Here, Heart spends a retail therapy day in her favorite and trusted one-stop destination for her luxury needs. “Today is a special day, but it’s just like almost every day. We’re here at Greenbelt,” she says.

Arguably the country’s luxury fashion capital, Greenbelt 3 now houses the top luxury brands—as part of what it considers its “refresh” initiative. (Greenbelt 4’s own update is under way.)

Heart recalls, “I am a Greenbelt baby, actually; this was my school, it’s my alma mater. I was here basically every day with my mom and my sister after school. We always have lunch here, and I love how it has grown to be the Capital of Fashion here in the Philippines.

“This is my happy place! I can finally visit all of my favorite brands under one roof and shop to my heart’s content.”

Her first stop is the iconic Louis Vuitton, the brand’s largest store in the Philippines, with its bold and colorful interior design given the Filipino touch. Heart helps herself to canapes and drinks as she scans the newest clothing, shoe and bag collection.

Next stop is Jappy Gonzalez’s retail group H&F Retail Concepts—Univers with its minimalist interiors. Heart settles down at Assouline book shop at Univers, with its massive coffeetable books on famous artists and style legends. Officine Universelle Buly transports Heart back to France with its old world wood paneling, expertly curated beauty products and fragrances the client can design herself. Virgil Abloh’s Off-White has his iconic streetwear.

Hermes visit

From France, Heart is off to Rome—at Greenbelt 3. Bulgari store is reminiscent of the landmark iconic store in Via dei Condotti in Rome, showcasing its jewelry collection in its marble interiors. Next is Kenzo with its stark white walls and navy blue carpet. Max Mara has its signature bold-colored pieces. Hermès’ two-story shop boasts a collection of beauty products, home decor, and iconic bags and accessories collections.

“People aren’t intimidated at all to come to Greenbelt because it caters to everybody. It feels like you don’t really need to travel to feel like you’ve been somewhere because Greenbelt really just gives you everything all at once,” Heart says.

“At Greenbelt, it’s always a good mood, you feel really excited and happy. Again, it goes back to the variety of stores, different feels, and the different aesthetics of each store, and you feel really fresh.”

Tod’s visit

For the bagaholic and shoeholic in everyone, there’s Tod’s, Salvatore Ferragamo. “Ferragamo is such a classic!” Heart says, eyeing the iconic shoes.

“I’m a digital person. I also like to shop online, but it’s still different to see things in person and to feel, to try on, and to put on and style stuff physically, so I truly did enjoy my experience. I can’t wait for the new Tiffany store. I’m also such a huge fan of Celine, I’m so excited to see the opening, which I heard is going to happen very soon. Thank you so much Greenbelt for being a happy place not just for me, but for a lot of people, thank you so much for existing, and I hope you guys also enjoyed my little adventure here in Greenbelt today.”
