Jonathan Matti: A collection bound by friendship, camaraderie—and taste

Vetted sets the stage for early holiday cheer from September 19-21, 11am-7pm, as four of Manila’s top creatives come together for a pre-Christmas pop-up, in its showroom at Mile Long, Amorsolo St., Makati.

Showcasing the best in Filipino artistry and craftsmanship, the event titled Garden of Earthly Delights features Mark Wilson of Caro Wilson, Amarie by Anne Marie Saguil, Carissa Cruz-Evangelista’s Beatriz, and Jonathan Matti for Vetted’s in-house collection. Guests can expect a curated trove of exquisite clothing, accessories, décor, and jewelry—each piece celebrating local materials and timeless craft traditions.

“Friendship and camaraderie is what binds this show. Aside from that it’s the shared sense of craftmanship, creativity and transformation of everyday pieces to the extraordinary,” Matti told TheDiarist.ph.

“We promise you it will be a tactile paradise of textures, colors and forms that will appeal to all five senses.”

This is the second year that Amarie, Caro Wilson and Vetted are collaborating.

“Last year was a big success with the venue almost empty of show pieces on the last day, so that we decided to do it again this year, with a guest collaborator, Carissa Cruz of Beatriz accessories to fill in the missing components  by showcasing her bags,” said Matti.

Amarie will present its Cruise collection of finely embroidered dresses, tops and bottoms. Caro Wilson will show its jewelry, lighting, Christmas lanterns and specially designed table ware and accessories. Vetted will sell its much coveted throw pillows and throws made of local Filipino weaves combined with the finest Swiss silk and French passementerie, custom-made lamps with Vetted’s signature pink-lined shades for a softer glow, and home accessories sourced from Philippine artisans, mixed with unique finds from the world over.

Caro Wilson presents its signature Christmas lanterns,  a selection of men’s and women’s jewelry showcasing the brand’s signature weaving, and a series of copper trays.

Anchoring the pop-up is Vetted founder Jonathan Matti’s specially curated showcase of special finds from his travels—vintage silver boxes, chinoiserie papier-mâché accents, and elegant bronze and porcelain décor. Luxurious handwoven textiles are transformed into silk-and-down cushions, inabel throws lined with silk and French cotton chintz, and fabrics adorned with exquisite French passementerie. Completing the collection are bespoke lamps crafted with bases made from porcelain, silver candlesticks, bronze, and lacquered objects topped with Matti’s signature pink silk-lined shades for a holiday-ready glow.
