Jonathan Matti’s eye and taste—way beyond chic

Jonathan Matti’s Vetted returns for another much-awaited edition of Garden of Earthly Delights, its signature pop-up bringing together Matti’s home décor and accent pieces, Mark Wilson’s jewelry and fashion accessories under his eponymous Caro Wilson brand, and Anne Marie Saguil’s Amarie resortwear.

As in previous editions, the three-day affair is a one-stop shop for curated shopping: “Not just kinda chic,” as Matti cheekily points out, but “beyond chic.”

At the heart of Vetted’s edit is its latest collection of lamps, textiles, and throw pillows, where European antiques meet Filipino artisanal craftsmanship. Table lamps, for instance, marry 18th-century Tuscan candelabra bases with shades crafted from Inabel fabric and finished with silk grosgrain trims—a decidedly elegant conversation between old-world European design and Filipino materiality.

His now-iconic throw pillows continue the aesthetic, bringing together handwoven textiles in the distinctive Inabel tradition with French passementerie trims. “Most of the fabrics I am using are all handwoven by communities in Quezon, which is a little town in Isabela province in Cagayan Valley,” Matti says, “and finished with French passementerie trims.”

The same fabrics make their way into throws, bed coverlets, and tablecloths, giving everyday comforts a more considered—and decidedly chic—finish.

Amarie returns to the Garden of Earthly Delights with a fresh range of resort wear.

For the wardrobe, Anne Marie Saguil’s new resortwear collection under Amarie brings craftsmanship into clothes designed to go places. With comfort and practicality at its core, the collection has dresses and separates that transition easily from city streets to rustic escapes. Classic silhouettes are given a handcrafted flourish through delicate floral-inspired embroidery, scalloped hems, and hand-braided tassels.

Completing the pop-up’s triumvirate is Mark Wilson, who has added a capsule series of men’s tops to his artisanal jewelry, table napkins, and holiday decor under his Caro Wilson label.  Drawing on indigenous traditional crafts, the Caro Wilson collection exemplifies a modern sleek approach to Filipino style, much like the branding philosophies of Vetted and Amarie. This is evident in the woven detailing of the jewelry, the blend of local textiles with modern silhouettes in the apparel line, and the glittery finish of his holiday accessories— like the silver Baguio pine cones.

What ties the entire Garden of Earthly Delights edit together is its refusal to be ordinary. These are pieces made in limited quantities, with handcrafted details that nod to beloved Filipino traditions.
