Laughing all the way to Festa 2025: Some of BTS’ funniest videos

And there are more of them than ARMY can count, but here’s a hilarious smattering

IT’s going to be an especially significant Festa this year in celebration of BTS’ anniversary.

First, the biggest band in the world, which had been on temporary hiatus as members fulfilled their mandatory military engagements, will mark their 12th year since debuting in 2013. This year’s Festa is themed “Twelve O’Clock,” alluding to their song Zero O’Clock from 2020. Last June 1, Jin and j-hope, the two members already discharged, actually presented a news show-style skit.

Second, this month marks their much-awaited reunion, as the band will be together again for Festa except for Suga, who will miss the event by a few days, as he gets discharged June 21. Meanwhile, RM and V are scheduled for discharge June 10, with Jimin and Jungkook following the next day, June 11, two days before Festa.

The countdown to Festa will feature several streams on flashbacks of the group’s adventures. In celebration of the day our boys began to set the world on fire, here are a few choice, hilarious videos that ARMYs survived on these past two years.

For this author, the height of hysteria must have been RUN BTS episode 132, which had the boys guesting at a hotel swimming pool dressed in white bathrobes, and attempting to hold serious debates about Korean agricultural products while being sprayed by water every time they gave a mystery signal. Who can forget Hobi almost drowning as he sat out his turn as “moderator,” the one who gets dunked the most? Jungkook also figured out at some point that fiddling with his eye shield would unleash another spray, so he kept doing it, and giggling at the same time. I don’t think there is any other talent agency in the world that treats their superstars this way, but ARMYs—and even the boys themselves—obviously think it’s hilarious.

Then, there was the time the boys answered questions at K-Con 2014, including what inspires them when they performed or wrote songs. Immortalized here was Suga’s unapologetic mangling of the English word into “infires.”

Speaking of mangling English, you must be made of stone if you didn’t laugh along to the famous Eat Live Jin episode featuring Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook. It actually started out with just the hilarious Jin and poor Jimin, who spent most of the video dying of laughter while sucking on a lollipop. Here, the talk ranged from chemical elements like einsteinium, to Jin exclaiming his infamous “STOB IT!” Between Jimin catching his breath and Jin’s high-pitched, unmistakable laughter, it’s a laughfest all the way.

And speaking of head comedian Jin, nowhere else was he in more excellent form than in Malta during their Bon Voyage episode. Whether it was Jin wearing nerdy fashion (that had Hobi walking ahead in embarrassment), falling off his chair while fishing, or getting locked out of their apartment because he forgot the door code after a night of solo bar-hopping, BTS’ hyung proved to also be the most senior in terms of unfiltered wackiness.

For earnest ARMY Tiffany Urrutia, whose bias is V, with Namjoon as a serious wrecker, top of the list remains the hilarious House of Army, where everyone played a hilarious role, including Cutie the flirty dog (played by Jimin) who actually drags a rapping uncle Suga out of the room. “When I’m sad, nakaka-ilang ulit yan for me. Cutie never fails.” If we can throw in Jin (again, truly a comedic genius) as a grandfather clock and a half-peeled banana, you have rib-tickling gold.

Tiffany is also a fan of the recent Are You Sure? series of Jimin and Jungkook in the US, with V guesting in some episodes. “It captures the dynamics of the maknae line. Taehyung is usually pasimuno, and because Jimin will follow him, JK has no choice!”

Tiffany’s two fave boys, V and Namjoon, had a seriously funny duet when V broke out in song while canoeing in the middle of the lake in In The Soop 2. With Bam, JK’s Doberman, as special guest here, the episode got even more special.

Actress Frances Makil Ignacio, another V devotee, looks far back to the band’s early American Hustle Life (AHL) series filmed during their debut year. ARMYS are still cracking up over Suga selling his gold chain for $3 because “I’m reeeeeech.” “Binentahan niya!” says Frances with a laugh. “Wala siyang paki sa casting! They were still struggling here. AHL was filmed during their debut year. Inaapi pa sila niyan, but they stayed precious and still themselves all throughout.”

Then there’s this Japanese talk show interview where V was asked about his latest fashion purchase—and he answered, “Panties.” “V answers so honestly and candidly,” Frances says. “Panty kasi ang binili! Priorities. That’s what he said when asked what his favorite item of clothing was. The boys went on to laugh and add to the fun. Sabi pa ni j-hope, ‘Panty Sonyeondan’!”

Finally, there are the RUN BTS episodes 83 to 85 in the Water Park. “These captured everything we love about them,” Frances says. “They’ve perfected being entertainers as well as being in their reality shows just having the best moment with each other. No single moment was patapon. Even when j-hope got some downtime after getting seasick, they all wound up the three-episode series with a tender Secret Santa kalokohan—during summer, bakit ba?”

Lynnette Ruiz-Redublo, a Senate journal officer, wife, and mom who counts Namjoon as her bias, says there are “so many funny moments,” but among her top choices is also the hotel swimming pool episode of Run BTS episode 132. “This episode had me, my mom, and my daughter (yes, being ARMY runs in the family) literally rolling on the couch, laughing at the chaos. It was so easy to see who the naughty members were, and who were the problem-solvers. And then there was drowning Hobi trying to make sense of it all!”

@nadyasupian You can’t stop laughing watching these funny moments of BTS 💜 #runbts #bts #bangtan #btsarmy #lmao #funnyvideos #btsfunny #fyp #fypシ ♬ Run BTS – BTS

Then there was In The Soop 1. “There were so many moments (hello, Jin choking on a mango slice), but the banter I found hilarious as well as heartwarming was how they just let Jimin tease JK and Namjoon, and how Hobi (again) almost died of laughter.”

For Lynnette’s “very first V-live ever,” she admittedly “had no clue what was going on, but NamJin giggling and snorting for minutes on end just made for a good laugh! Oh, and Namjoon’s alfalfa hair sealed the bias deal for me!” I agree that ARMYs almost choked on the noodles themselves.

Lynnette ends with the Run BTS episode 28, the noraebang session (their equivalent of karaoke) that proves “chaotic Bangtan is always hysterical…Whenever they don’t take themselves seriously and just let loose, it’s crazy funny! Plus, Yoongi pushing beyond his energy reserve is adorable.” May I add, Namjoon destroying his vocal chords gave us a bellyache.

Finally, a contribution from Diarist editor Thelma Sioson, herself a big Jin follower. Here are the boys arriving for a music awards night in their dapper suits—but not without some backstage shenanigans. “This clip gets me laughing every time—Jin teaching Jimin how to do the ‘born-to-the-manor’ look,” she says. Move to 2:37, the behind-the-scenes part of the video, to check it out. All I can say is, like Jin, “I don’t have think.”
