gavel&block, the Salcedo Auctions subsidiary for emerging collectors, holds its first online auction of the year on Saturday, 3 February starting at 11 a.m.

There will be signature lots of art, antiques and decor, alongside pop memorabilia spanning genres and generations. That includes lots from homegrown music legends Pinoy rock pioneer Mike Hanopol, and the 1997 National Artist for Literature and Music, Levi Celerio.

Rare LPs by the country’s top singers Sharon Cuneta (left) and Nora Aunor.

Hanopol’s beloved Steinberger guitar, which the rock legend has signed, is up for bidding, with a signed CD and jackets worn by the music icon in his concerts. From Celerio’s estate, a series of composition sheets with the prolific lyricist’s handwritten notes, an invitation to the FAMAS Awards where he was honored for his achievements,  and a vinyl 45 record that immortalizes Celerio’s poetic lyrics. There will be LPs by Gary Valenciano, Nora Aunor, Sharon Cuneta, to name a few, from the ’60s to the ’80s.

gavel&block offers a wide range of art to include a painting by young contemporary artist, Isabel Santos.

For superhero fans, there’s a series of comics of iconic characters, from the Hulk to Spiderman, Batman and Robin, among others. Among souvenirs of the music of Boy George and Cindy Lauper, or of the classic movie E.T., there are tumblers of these pop culture markers.

From emerging contemporary artists such as Isabel Santos, there are works of comic book imagery with a decidedly feminine approach, and also works of Romulo Olazo, Danilo Dalena, and National Artist HR Ocampo.

Serigraph by auction powerhouse Fernando Zobel.

There is the return of gavel&block’s no-reserve feature which caused a bidding frenzy when it was introduced.  Some of the lots in this listing include a serigraph by auction powerhouse Fernando Zobel, an iconic Versace silk scarf,  a sculpture by Lynyrd Paras, and figurines by Filipino toy designer Quiccs.
