“Christmas is a ritual but at the same time, beyond the rituals, Christmas this year will need the feeling of joy that faith could bring, and you could be happy if others around you are happy.” – Thelma Sioson-San Juan, veteran lifestyle journalist
Veteran lifestyle-journalist Thelma Sioson-San Juan shares her insights from a recent webinar with us at PayMongo. We listed down nine remarkable points Thelma made on how going back to our basic human values can help us create new holiday traditions. “Keep the faith,” she says, “and let’s save Christmas.”
-
Look out for each other, love each other, turn to a higher being.
-
In lifestyle, there will be less emphasis on style and pretentious forms and more on living and trying to survive.
-
People will continue to set their priorities, spending on what is essential and focusing on who is essential in their lives.
-
Brands must be relevant and draw empathy. Consumers expect themselves and the brands they patronize to be sensitive to the trauma the human race is going through.
-
Filipinos are by nature compassionate and nowhere has it been more evident than in this pandemic when we championed help, support, and love of family, community, and country.
-
Have a grateful heart. It is the best thing to have in your senior years and even if you’re still young. This pandemic told us that mortality, like it or not, is not a mere choice.
-
We should know right from wrong. If you know and accept what is right and that is how you live, then life becomes simple and not as stressful.
