The highly anticipated Rockwell’s Proscenium Theater opens with the acclaimed The Bodyguard The Musical in September, and it promises to be not just a new stage but also an immersive experience right in the heart of the city. The musical, which had a highly popular run in Broadway and London’s West End, will be staged by 9 Works Theatrical.
The Proscenium Theater
An engaging blend of romance, suspense, and memorable music, The Bodyguard was based on the 1992 blockbuster movie starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. It is the story of global superstar Rachel Marron (Houston) and the former Secret Service agent (Costner) assigned to protect her—a suspense drama that turns into a love story, its soundtrack becoming the hallmark of a generation.
The Bodyguard The Musical has the music that made the movie unforgettable—I Will Always Love You, I Have Nothing, Run to You and more—and which immortalized the voice of the late Whitney Houston. From Broadway to London’s West End, it has been staged in over 15 countries.
Now it is at the Rockwell Proscenium Theater with its state-of-the-art facilities. The theater has a 16 x16 meter stage, fully automated fly lines, and an orchestra pit. Even the farthest seats in the Dress Circle, just 20 meters from the stage, offer a clear, immersive view that makes every spot in the house feel like the best seat.
