Solaire Resort Entertainment City held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, Art of Christmas, with Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) chairman and chief executive officer Alejandro H. Tengco, PAGCOR president and chief operating officer Juanito L. Sanosa Jr.. They were joined in lighting the 2 ft-high trees by Bloomberry Resorts Corporation president and chief operating officer Thomas Arasi, Bloomberry Resorts Corporation vice chairman for construction and regulatory affairs Donato C. Almeda, Solaire Resort executive vice president and head of gaming–Metro Manila region Cyrus Sherafat, Solaire Resort Entertainment City executive vice president for VIP marketing and services Laurence Upton, and Solaire Resort Entertainment City senior vice president for resort operations David Batchelor.
Roughly 25,000 LED lights illuminated the resort’s main lobby to signal the beginning of the Yuletide season.
After the ceremony, the guests were treated to live performances of Martin Nievera and the Ambassadors for Christ Chamber Singers with songs of the holidays, adding to the air of festivity.
The annual tree lighting ceremony has become an integral part of Solaire’s Christmas celebrations, highlighting the holiday celebration in a country that’s known to have the longest Christmas season rich with Filipino customs and celebration. “It is a symbolic and meaningful gesture for us,” Arasi said. “As a Filipino company, it is at our core to showcase and elevate the country’s culture and traditions—from food, to talent and art—for the local and international community to experience. This year’s theme, the Art of Christmas, is special. After two years of not being able to share this occasion with our guests, festive celebrations at Solaire are great reminders of what Christmas is really like here in the country, and for Filipinos,” he added.
