There is a particular pleasure in discovering a truly well-edited wardrobe: pieces that have lived a life, acquired a certain patina of personality and, importantly, know how to travel. This is the spirit behind The Gracious Lady, the latest pop-up at celebrated interior designer Jonathan Matti’s creative space, Vetted.
For this edition, The Gracious Lady’s founder, tastemaker Tonette Martel presents a new selection of pre-loved pieces from her own closet — a wardrobe shaped by an assured eye for style and years spent travelling. The collection is a heady mix of bold, playful finds and enduring classics, spanning clothing and accessories from some of fashion’s most coveted names. Stylish without being precious, they are pieces chosen to move easily from one destination to another, making them particularly appealing to the modern traveller.

For cooler destinations, there are gorgeous coats by Prada, Yves Saint Laurent and Issey Miyake, each with the sort of presence that can instantly transform an outfit. The travelling wardrobe’s indispensable classics are here, too: the little black dress and the perfect top, making understated appearances courtesy of Givenchy, The Row, Chanel and Lanvin.

And then there are the pieces that invite a little more drama. Issey Miyake brings his signature otherworldly silhouettes, while TSE, Ego, Missoni, Armani and Tsumori Chisato add bold color, expressive prints and an element of playful irreverence.
