KCC lines up immersive events; Korean embassy opens visa center

With the ever-growing popularity of K-culture in the Philippines, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC), in partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization Manila Office (KTO), presents a visual journey, Mga Kuha sa Korea, a month-long travel photo exhibit from August 17 to September 23 at the KCC Building in Taguig City.

In line with Visit Korea 2023-2024, a tourism initiative of the Korean government, the KCC devotes August and September to promoting tourism in Korea through a series of events. It starts off with Mga Kuha sa Korea photo exhibit, a guide for Filipinos to explore the panoramic landscapes, vibrant cities, and unique cultural offerings of South Korea, making it a must-visit destination.

The photography sections are designed to cater to different interests and preferences. For nature enthusiasts, there are sections dedicated to the four seasons, showcasing the breathtaking beauty of Korea’s landscapes as they transform throughout the year.

In the heart of Korea travel is its popular cuisine. A dedicated section celebrates Korean food, including distinct specialties from various regions, offering a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The 2030 Busan World Expo section highlights the Korean government’s bid as it showcases Busan, an industrial and cultural powerhouse of Korea. This section provides a sneak peek into the innovative and vibrant spirit of the Expo.

For film enthusiasts, there’s the 2023 Korean Film Festival section, with the theme Travel. Through carefully curated films, the KCC aims to transport viewers to different cities and provinces of Korea through the world of cinema.

The exhibit features the finalists’ entries in the I Was Here: Mga Kuha sa Korea contest, where participants shared one of their fondest memories from their Korea trip. The contest winner will also be awarded during the exhibit’s grand opening on August 17, making the event even more special and meaningful.

KCC Director Kim Myeongjin explained the exhibit’s mission—”Through this exhibit, we hope to be able to bring Korea a bit closer to you.”

The Korean Embassy is also launching Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) starting August 14. KVAC will be located at the Brittany Hotel in Bonifacio Global Center, Taguig City.

Alongside Mga Kuha sa Korea, the KCC has lined up exciting events for August and September under the Visit Korea 2023-2024 campaign.
