Property giant Megaworld welcomes the first two-time Filipino Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo to his new home in the 50-ha McKinley Hill township in Taguig City.
Yulo formally received yesterday the P32-million three-bedroom, fully-furnished and designed condominium unit in one of Megaworld’s newest premier residential properties in McKinley Hill. It comes with a parking slot, home appliances, furniture, fixtures, and other amenities. The Olympic champion also received a P3 million cash reward, apart from the condo unit.
Kevin L. Tan, son of tycoon Dr. Andrew L. Tan and the president and chief executive officer of Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI), the parent company of Megaworld, and Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso, president of Megaworld Corporation, turned over the condo unit’s keys and cheque to Yulo. They also gave a special artwork to Yulo—an art piece featuring three leaves cut into images of Yulo, his winning gymnastics form in the Paris Olympics, and McKinley Hill’s iconic Venice Grand Canal.
“Together with the rest of the nation, we thank Carlos for giving us so much pride as he showcased to the world the best of the Filipinos’ competitive spirit. We recognize his passion and dedication to excellence, and we take pride in welcoming another Olympic champion in our Megaworld township, just like how we celebrated and welcomed Hidilyn Diaz in Eastwood City when she won the Philippines’ first-ever Olympic gold medal in Tokyo, Japan back in 2021,” says Tan.
The interiors of Yulo’s three-bedroom condominium unit follow a modern contemporary design—clean sleek lines, neutral tones that emphasize simplicity, and attention to detail. The space, which features generous hues of gold inspired by Yulo’s gold medals, was custom-curated by Megaworld’s in-house interior design team.
The unit has been furnished with home appliances such as refrigerator, microwave oven, four-burner cooktop with oven, washing and drying machines, four smart television sets, and even a game console, which Yulo can enjoy with friends and family.
Two balconies, in the living room and the master’s bedroom, offer Yulo views of the township and the rest of the property.
Among the standout pieces that adorn the living room is a custom-made nesting coffee table that bears a replica of the gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
The dining area has a custom dining table, which can be transformed and configured to accommodate anywhere from six to eight people. Also lending a tribute to the Olympic gymnast’s historic feat in his new home is a gallery in the hallway leading to the bedrooms, which features framed newspaper clippings that celebrate Yulo’s historic success on the world stage.
One of the three bedrooms was designed to be an entertainment room, with a day bed with a pull-out single bed, where Yulo can relax and unwind after hours of hard training.
Aside from his unit, Yulo can enjoy a variety of amenities in his condo community, including a sprawling infinity pool and pool deck, a two-level fitness center where he can train and do conditioning exercises, and function rooms. There’s also an outdoor fitness area, children’s playground and daycare center, a game room and entertainment room, a business center, and a bar and lounge.
Shortly after formally receiving and touring his condo community, Yulo also graced a brief hero’s parade at Venice Grand Canal where he was warmly welcomed by fans, visitors, and the McKinley Hill community.
“We are very excited to finally welcome Carlos here to McKinley Hill,” said Gutierrez-Alfonso. “Having someone like him as a full-fledged resident of one of our pioneer Megaworld township developments is already a cause for celebration. Aside from his new home, we look forward to seeing him enjoy the rest of the township, as his new address is surrounded by several iconic destinations, including the Venice Grand Canal which features hundreds of themed restaurants, cinemas, and retail establishments. This gift is a well-deserved reward for all his hard work, sacrifices, and commitment to excellence that really made us all proud to be Filipinos.”
During the turnover of his condo unit, Yulo also received lifetime free delivery service and exclusive goodies and merchandises from premium lifestyle delivery app PICK.A.ROO.
Surrounded by lush gardens and colorful landscapes, Yulo’s address in McKinley Hill is also just a short walk away from the McKinley Hill Stadium, international schools, office towers, and embassies, among others. The township is also just beside C5-Road and a few minutes away from the central business districts of Makati, Taguig, and Ortigas, as well as the South Luzon Expressway, Skyway, and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
