‘Dynamite’ inspires ‘BTS x Samsonite Red’ Collection

From Red to Purple campaign features 11 products, from luggage to cross-body bag

Products include backpacks, cross-body bags.

Samsonite RED, the global contemporary business casual bag brand, launches the BTS X Samsonite Red collection, combining the theme of BTS’ chartbuster Dynamite and the From Red to Purple campaign.

Inspired by Dynamite, this collection features 11 products that include suitcases, backpacks, cross-body bags and travel accessories. They carry the retro pop music vibe of Dynamite, BTS’ first No.1 song on Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. It received worldwide attention with its message of hope to global fans during the pandemic, helping lift the mood with its rhythmic energy, upbeat melody and awesome choreography. The song also made it to the list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time of the iconic US magazine Rolling Stone.

BTS holds an on-line and in-person concert in Seoul at the Olympic Stadium, its first in-person concert in South Korea’s capital, on March 10-13. Permission to Dance On Stage—Seoul will be also livestreamed worldwide.

Purple has become the symbol of BTS Army, the global fandom of the South Korean band that numbers millions. The BTS X Samsonite Red collection has sheer violet as key theme color. The luggage, which comes in 18-inch and 22-inch sizes, has a sliver plate in the front, engraved with the Dynamite logo and the silhouettes of the seven members dancing.

Each suitcase has graphic-inspired luggage stickers lifted from the lyrics of Dynamite such as “Tonight”, “Ping Pong”, and “Stars”—fans can customize the luggage cover. The interior has the pastel sky-blue that echoes the Dynamite artwork.

The collection also has a mini carry-on bag that can either be hand-carried or attached to the carry handle of luggage, and a mini case that can be hooked onto a bag or luggage. The mini carry-on bag comes with a strap embroidered with Dynamite logo and can be transformed into a cross-body bag. The spacious space makes it ideal for short trips and camping.

Available in limited quantities, the more special backpacks and cross-body bags are embroidered with Dynamite-inspired artwork. The backpack consists of a dedicated laptop compartment that fits 15.6-inch laptop model, and a smart sleeve that can fit onto the luggage trolley handle for greater convenience. Various travel accessories, such as card holders, pouches, name tags, passport covers and neck pillows bearing the Dynamite concept, are also available. The full interior lining of the products (except neck pillow and name tag) has antimicrobial technology by Microban®.
