Witness how idealism and uncompromising pride can lead to self-deterioration in Orgullo Compound, an online production written by Layeta Bucoy, a recipient of Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature Hall of Fame and multi-awarded playwright.
The pre-recorded play was directed by Jenny Logico-Cruz, Langgam Performance Troupe co-founder and artistic director and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Theater Arts Program educator. Set design was by Gawad Buhay Philstage awardee and Benilde Theater Arts Program chairperson Tuxqs Rutaquio.
It revolves around Teofie Orgullo, a professor who has a lot on his plate. Burdened by problems in his apartment compound, he found himself stranded in an inner battle that tests his connections with others.
A creative study on Polymer Chemistry, the basis of many natural and man-made minerals, Orgullo Compound explores the ripple effects of being and how one’s environment reflects and influences life choices.
Orgullo Compound is produced by Sining LABinsiyam, a group of young Benildean student-artists and thespians who are driven with their shared vision to shed light on the underrepresented Filipino narratives on the contemporary stage.
It is open to the public and will be available on view from Friday, July 29, 2022 to Friday, August 12, 2022, with shows from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Tickets are available at https://ticket2me.net/e/35284 for P250 each.
